Is This You?

Scripture does not call us merely to profess faith with the lips, but to examine whether the life gives evidence of the truth we claim to believe. The question is not whether a person is flawless, but whether there is a discernible pattern of spiritual fruit that reflects the work of God within.

Examine the Fruit

Do you have the fruit Fruit
Greek: karpos

That which is produced by a life. Spiritually, it points to the visible evidence of an inward root or source.

Galatians 5:22–23
of righteousness Righteousness
Greek: dikaiosynē

Uprightness, justice, conformity to what is right in God’s sight. Not merely outward morality, but a life aligned with truth.

Matthew 6:33
?
Do you have a pattern of doing what is right?
Do you love the truth Truth
Greek: alētheia

That which is true, real, and unconcealed. In Scripture, truth is not only correctness in words, but faithfulness to God’s revealed reality.

John 17:17
?
Do you have a desire to please God?

Examine Your Words

Listen carefully to what comes out of your mouth, because speech often reveals the true condition of the heart Heart
Hebrew: lev / Greek: kardia

The inner man — the seat of thought, desire, purpose, affection, and will. What fills the heart eventually comes out in words and deeds.

Proverbs 4:23
.

“…for the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.”
Matthew 12:34

Is there humility Humility
Greek: tapeinophrosynē

Lowliness of mind; not self-exaltation, but a sober and submissive heart before God and others.

Philippians 2:3
?
Are your works gracious?
Is there filthy language?
Are your words hateful?

The Mark of His Sheep

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”
John 10:27

Christ’s sheep are not identified merely by association, tradition, or outward profession. They hear His voice, they are known by Him, and they follow where He leads.

If Not…

Scripture gives a direct and sobering exhortation:

Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
2 Corinthians 13:5

This is not about perfection, but direction. What does your life consistently reveal?
